The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announced the pilot debut of the Tabby payment facilitator service in collaboration with the Dubai Government’s Finance Department.
The RTA stated that the new service will enable customers to pay the value of their electronic transactions in 4-month installments through smart kiosks. Additionally, the service will enable customers to pay their driving licence renewal fees, vehicle registration fees and traffic fines in installments.
According to the RTA, its smart kiosks are in over 21 locations throughout Dubai, including the main building, customer satisfaction centres, service provider centres, and other places.
According to the federal traffic code, stopping abruptly in the middle of the road while driving carries a Dhs1,000 punishment and six black points, according to Major General Saif Muhair Al Mazrouie, Director of the General Department of Traffic at Dubai Police.
Noting that the driver should make sure the car is in good condition before leaving the house, Al Mazrouei cautioned against stopping in the middle of the road owing to a vehicle malfunction, running out of petrol, or a flat tire.
He stated that stopping in the middle of the road is one of the most dangerous infractions, resulting in significant collisions, fatalities, and severe injuries. He also added that an accident that occurs for this reason typically results in a large number of victims.
