The Beginning
We were intrigued to learn about Dr.Wasit Prombutr’s early life and educational background. So, we asked, “Can you please provide us with some information about yourself, including your early life and education?”
Dr.Wasit Prombutr shared, “My journey is filled with amazing instances that many may find unbelievable. My nickname in the Thai Language is ‘Mhom.’ I was born in Surin Province, where my father served in the government service and merchants. I am the eldest child, with a younger brother and two lovely younger sisters.
As a child, I was quiet and shy but enjoyed playing sports more than studying. Despite poor academic performance, I used athletics to earn an Associate Degree in Agriculture. I graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Landscape Design from Maejo Institute of Technology. My experience as an athlete has taught me responsibility and how to manage finances. This played a significant role in my achievement as the first student in the field of landscape design who was both an athlete at Chiang Mai Province and the university, which allowed me to pursue a Master’s degree in Regional Planning and Urban Planning at Chulalongkorn University, a prestigious institution in Thailand.
Additionally, I have worked with well-known design and engineering consulting companies such as Seatec International, Sinclair Knight Merz (SKM), and Chotichinda Consultants Limited (CCCL) as a designer, planner, and project manager. I also have a passion for interdisciplinary work and hold master’s degrees in economics, business administration, public administration, and education. I have also completed a course on diagnostic systems from Japanese experts in the Establishment Diagnostician Development Course (SHINDAN), in the JICA cooperation project, which has influenced my career path towards becoming a lecturer.”
Dr.Wasit Prombutr added, “On weekdays, I spend my holidays diagnosing and advising entrepreneurs, observing organizational changes, and providing guidance. I then joined a prominent consulting organization in Thailand, focused on management development. This experience led me to pursue a doctoral degree in various fields related to business management and public policy.
For my dissertation, I conducted an empirical study on – Characteristics of Learning Organization and its Impact on Services Quality: An Empirical Study of Hospitals in Thailand. Since graduating, I have guided leaders and employees across 21 industries, including manufacturing, energy, retail, and real estate. Over 250 organizations have benefited from my expertise. I also had opportunities to obtain certifications from prestigious institutions in various areas such as management development, organization development, leadership, coaching, and more. These institutions include the Forbes Coaches Council, Association for Coaching, NLP University, and the American Board of Hypnotherapy, among others.
Furthermore, I am an Independent Certified Coach, Teacher, Trainer, and Speaker with The John Maxwell Team and Harvard Business Review Advisory Council. I provide insight and share research findings to enrich our understanding of HBR’s content and receive exclusive previews of new products.
Recently, I received the title of Honorary Professor in the field of Organization Management & Development from the American University of Business and Social Sciences (AUBSS) and The International Association for Quality Assurance in Pre-Tertiary. & Higher Education (QAHE) in April 2024.”
