Marcus Chin, a radio DJ and veteran Singaporean actor, had a heart attack on Monday morning, October 7, and is currently recuperating following an urgent coronary artery bypass operation.
The 71-year-old took a little break after feeling ill at around 10.45 am while recording a brief video at Mediacorp Campus with fellow actor Mark Lee. He started having respiratory problems and chest pains shortly after filming begun.
After being taken by ambulance right away to the National University Hospital, it was discovered that he had coronary artery disease, which is brought on by clogged arteries. At 1 pm, he had surgery, which was successfully finished an hour later.
According to a statement released by his talent agency, King Kong Media, Chin will remain in the hospital for a minimum of three to four days. He has also been told to take a month or more off from work and rest.
The actor, host, and Love 972 DJ had a full schedule that will now all be cancelled or postponed. This includes his radio hosting responsibilities, dramas, and musical performances, among other things.
