SINGAPORE: On Wednesday, August 28, a man was discovered dead in Potong Pasir after a fire. According to the police, no foul play is suspected. Around 6.45 a.m., the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) reported receiving reports of a fire outside a flat at Block 107 Potong Pasir Avenue 1. At the same moment, the police received a call for assistance. Before police arrived, public members used fire extinguishers to put out the fire, according to the SCDF.
A paramedic discovered the 44-year-old man motionless outside the flat and declared him dead there and then. A charred male corpse was discovered outside the flat, according to the newspaper Lianhe Zaobao. The deceased was identified as Lim Min Lee by the man’s older brother, who simply wanted to be called Mr. Lim.
Block 107’s eighth floor was blocked off when CNA arrived at noon. All police activity stopped except for the two officers on standby. Ash was visible outside a flat that the police had cordoned off.
Officers were also observed hanging a white sheet at the other cordoned-off end of the eighth floor at approximately 12:30 p.m. There was a lot of crying coming from outside the flat.
