SINGAPORE: After demonstrating in Singapore against Peter Lim, the Singaporean owner of Valencia, a Spanish first-division football team, a couple from Spain is cooperating with investigations.
On Wednesday, October 9, the Singapore Police Force stated that a report had been filed against a 30-year-old lady and a 34-year-old male who were both Spanish nationals.
Valencia Mayor Maria Jose Catala stated on Tuesday that Dani Cuesta and his wife Mireia Saez, who were allegedly on a honeymoon, were detained at the Singapore airport on Friday when they tried to catch a trip to Bali and have been barred from departing the country.
The couple’s “passports have been withdrawn because of an ongoing police investigation,” but they have not been charged with any crimes, according to Catala, who said she had spoken with Spain’s ambassador to Singapore. So they can leave the hotel, they are living a relatively normal life in Singapore, but they cannot leave the country,” she stated on Spanish-language radio.
On social media, Cuesta shared pictures of himself holding a black and yellow banner that said “Lim go Home” in a number of places throughout Singapore, including outside the Abelia condominium in Ardmore Park, as well as the Esplanade and Marina Bay.
Cuesta posted pictures of himself outside the Abelia condominium, which is said to be Mr. Lim’s. In 2014, Mr. Lim, one of Singapore’s wealthiest individuals, purchased Valencia, a Spanish club.
