SINGAPORE: Trekking through a vast rainforest with 29 animal species and other adventure features is what visitors to Singapore’s fifth wildlife park can anticipate. Mandai Wildlife Group announced in a news statement on Thursday that the new park, Rainforest Wild Asia, will open its first phase in March of next year.
The new 13-hectare Mandai Wildlife Reserve attraction, which was inspired by rainforest treks, was created with a range of trails varying in difficulty so that visitors could customize their stay to suit their interests.
These include wide, raised paths that are easy to navigate and forest trails that are dotted with fallen logs, stones, and streams. Wheelchair users and families with strollers will be able to access the elevated walkways, which include covered rest areas.
Mandai Wildlife Group noted that those looking for heart-pounding thrills can harness experiences and guide trips that offer high-element crossings across rock faces, freefall jumps, and difficult caving expeditions.
Nearly 7,000 plants and shrubs from Southeast Asia were planted to complement the park’s protected rainforest areas in order to create its scenery. Visitors are advised to don comfortable shoes and bring a sense of adventure for their rainforest explorations,” said the Mandai Wildlife Group.
